Florida Hit & Run (leaving the scene)

Florida Statutes: 316.027, 316.061

There are several facts that determine how severe your punishments may be if you have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Whether or not there were injuries, whether or not correct information was exchanged, and many other factors can shape your case and make a measurable difference when it comes time for the final verdict.

There are two distinct categories in leaving the scene of an accident cases:

  • Leaving the scene with property damage - any time when you are involved in an accident where even the slightest damage to one or the other vehicle results.
  • Leaving the scene with personal injury/death - any time when you are involved in an accident where any type of personal injury or death results.

Exchanging Information at the Scene of the accident and reporting to police
